We absolutely wanted to keep a puppy from Mable's last litter. We deliberately chose Bailey as the Sire of that litter because he is a descendant of our Venus, so both of our lines are united in these puppies.

We wanted a red girl with a long tail. There were two in that litter, so we had to choose. We finally lost our hearts to the the darker one of these two red girls, and when the result of her eye exam came out normal, it was clear that we would keep her, and that her name should contain the names of our first two Aussies - "Ve" for her granny Venus, and "A" for her other granny Aenny. So we called her "Vega" (which is also the name of the brightest star in the constellation Lyra).

Vega is a very special girl...she's different from all of our other dogs. She is choosy about people...but when she loves someone, she loves them with all her heart and wants to sit on their lap and cuddle all the time. She is also a little bit reserved in new or novel situations.

I'm also training her in Competitive Obedience and Rally Obedience. She has entered her first competitions and we are curious about how she'll develop in the future. She absolutely enjoys working, watches us and listens to us intently and then completes her tasks with incredible eagerness. She loves going everywhere with us and has a tremendous will to please.

In her, the best qualities of our two breeding lines are united.
